This class action settlement covers people who are legally blind or have a vision-related disability that requires assistive technology, and who made a purchase at a Container Store location in Massachusetts between July 20, 2011 and August 12, 2026. Eligible people also had to try to credit that purchase to a Container Store loyalty program account at a touch screen point-of-sale kiosk or other device that offered no non-visual way to enter the information. The company denies wrongdoing, but agreed to settle the claims under Massachusetts accessibility and consumer protection laws. The total settlement is $780,000, and $230,000 of it goes to a damages fund. Eligible claimants may receive $75 for each qualifying purchase, though the amount may be reduced pro rata depending on the number of valid claims. The company will also make required improvements to its devices whether or not you file. To get paid, you must submit a claim form by the December 20, 2026 deadline. Objections to the settlement are due by October 9, 2026. Court approval is still required before the settlement takes effect.
