This class action settlement involves P.I.T. Retrievals v. HealthPort Technologies, now known as Datavant. It covers patients, patient designees, and patient representatives who asked a Pennsylvania healthcare provider for medical records tied to life or health insurance applications, which HealthPort called underwriting requests. To qualify, you must have paid HealthPort more than the fees allowed under Pennsylvania's Medical Records Act, and you must not have been charged under an agreed rate. The covered period runs from December 17, 2009 through July 23, 2026. If you file an approved claim, you can recover 67.5 percent of the amount you allegedly overpaid, as determined by the settlement administrator. Payments depend on court approval and the resolution of any appeals. You may also exclude yourself, object, or ask to speak at a hearing. If you do nothing, you give up related claims once the court approves the settlement. The page does not state a claim filing deadline.
We're not a law firm; the official settlement site has the final word.
