This class action settlement involves a lawsuit claiming that Earn Company, Earn Finance Company LLC, Credit Exterminators Inc. and several related parties violated the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act. The defendants deny the claims, but they may have difficulty paying a judgment because of their financial troubles, so the parties agreed to a settlement fund of $125,000 paid out over about two years. The fund will cover payments to class members, administrative costs, class counsel expenses and a service award for the named plaintiff. If you are a class member, you do not need to take action to receive a share of the net proceeds, which will be paid by check unless you choose an electronic payment method. You may instead object to the settlement in writing, or ask to speak at the fairness hearing. Objections must be filed by December 26, 2026, and the hearing is scheduled for January 20, 2027. The court still has to approve the settlement, and payments are expected roughly two years after approval and after any appeals are resolved.
