This settlement involves people in the United States who used the LocalMed Portal to schedule, modify, or re-schedule a dental appointment between March 2022 and June 2025, if information shared through the portal was allegedly sent to Google or another unauthorized third party. The lawsuit claims the portal passed user information to Google without consent. Dental Intelligence denies the allegations and any wrongdoing, but has agreed to settle and has added measures to stop future sharing with Google. Eligible people can receive a pro rata cash payment, meaning the amount depends on how many people file claims. To get paid, you must submit a timely and valid claim form online through the settlement website by January 25, 2027. Filing a claim is the only way to receive money. Other options include excluding yourself, which must be postmarked by December 28, 2026, or objecting to the settlement by the same date. If you do nothing, you give up your right to sue over these claims. The court still has to approve the settlement, and a final approval hearing is scheduled for March 25, 2027.
We're not a law firm; the official settlement site has the final word.
