This class action settlement covers people who paid water or sewer Capital Facilities Fees to the City of Raleigh at any time from January 12, 2016 through June 30, 2018. The case, Wardson Construction, Inc. et al. v. City of Raleigh, is pending in Wake County Superior Court in North Carolina. If the court grants final approval, the settlement would resolve legal claims about how the city collected these fees during that period. Eligible people who stay in the settlement may receive a Class Member Benefit Award, but awards are only paid after the court approves the deal and it takes effect. You can also choose to exclude yourself, which keeps your right to sue separately but forfeits any award, or object to the settlement. Both exclusions and objections are due by November 23, 2026, and the fairness hearing is set for December 14, 2026. The page does not list payment amounts or a separate claim form, so review the official Notice and settlement documents on the website for details on how to receive a payment.
We're not a law firm; the official settlement site has the final word.
