If you held a Merrill Edge self-directed retirement account, such as an IRA, Roth IRA, rollover IRA, inherited IRA, SEP IRA or SIMPLE IRA, with cash swept into Merrill-affiliated bank deposit accounts through the RASP program at any point from December 15, 2016 through March 15, 2020, you may be included in this class action. Merrill has agreed to pay $39 million into a settlement fund. After administration costs, attorneys' fees and any service award are paid, the rest goes to class members in proportion to the interest they would have earned if a reasonable rate had been paid. You do not need to file a claim. Payments go straight into your existing retirement account, or by check or electronic transfer if you no longer have the account. Payments under $10 will not be issued. If you no longer have a Merrill Edge retirement account, you are encouraged to submit an electronic payment request by March 26, 2027. To opt out, you must mail a signed letter postmarked by February 19, 2027. The court has granted preliminary approval, and a final approval hearing is set for March 12, 2027.
We're not a law firm; the official settlement site has the final word.
