A settlement of up to $15,000,000 resolves a lawsuit against DaVita over a ransomware attack that happened in April 2025. The attack may have exposed personal information such as names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health insurance details, clinical information, and in some cases tax ID numbers or check images. The settlement class covers all U.S. persons whose information was potentially accessed in the attack. Eligible people can file a claim for a cash payment currently estimated at $50, three years of one-bureau credit monitoring and identity theft restoration, or reimbursement of documented out-of-pocket losses up to $2,500. You can choose any or all of these benefits. Cash payments and reimbursements may be reduced pro rata depending on the total value of valid claims. To get benefits, you must submit a timely and valid claim form through the settlement website. Alternatively, you can exclude yourself or object by the earlier December 2026 deadlines, or do nothing and give up your legal rights.
We're not a law firm; the official settlement site has the final word.
