A class action settlement resolves claims from a February 2025 fire at a former SPS Technologies facility in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, which led to a shelter-in-place recommendation and voluntary evacuation order from Abington Township. The settlement covers two groups: business operators with a physical location in the affected area as of February 17, 2025, and property owners, residents, and workers at a physical workplace in that area on that date. The defendants deny wrongdoing. A $5 million fund will pay eligible members for documented unreimbursed business losses up to $5,000, documented hourly lost wages up to $200, and documented unreimbursed property losses up to $300, with any leftover money distributed pro rata. To get paid you must file a claim form online or by mail postmarked by December 3, 2026. Opting out or objecting has earlier deadlines in November 2026. Doing nothing means no payment and giving up the right to sue.
We're not a law firm; the official settlement site has the final word.
