This settlement covers people whose private information was affected by a targeted cyberattack on Chimienti & Associates in March 2024. Files that may have included names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, driver's license or state ID numbers, financial account details, and health information could have been accessed. The company denies wrongdoing, but the parties agreed to settle the lawsuit filed in Tulare County Superior Court in California. Individuals identified by the company as eligible may receive benefits, which can include a cash payment and credit monitoring. To receive anything, you must submit a valid and timely claim form, either online through the settlement website or by downloading a paper form and mailing it to the settlement administrator. If you do nothing, you will still be bound by the settlement and give up the right to sue over these claims. You may instead opt out or object, with deadlines in December 2026. The claim deadline is December 28, 2026, and the final approval hearing is scheduled for January 12, 2027.
