This settlement is for owners of certain Hyundai and Kia vehicles that lacked a factory-installed immobilizer and were stolen or targeted in a theft attempt. Eligible models span a range of Hyundai and Kia model years, and the vehicle must have had the free Software Upgrade installed or have had an appointment scheduled for it at the time of the theft or attempt. The theft must have occurred on or after April 29, 2025, and before the earlier of the date your vehicle received a free zinc sleeve installation or March 31, 2027. Eligible owners may receive up to $4,500 for a total loss or up to $2,250 for a partial loss, and up to $375 for reasonable expenses tied to a theft attempt. Because funds are limited and paid on a rolling basis, claims should be submitted promptly. A free zinc-reinforced ignition cylinder protector can also be installed at any authorized dealership, which is separate from the software upgrade. Check the official site to confirm your model, year, and claim requirements before filing.
We're not a law firm; the official settlement site has the final word.
