I just received an Advanced Readers Copy of a hardcover book called “Last Night I Dreamed of Peace”. Apparently the diary of a Vietnamese doctor in her 20’s who volunteered to serve in a Viet Cong hospital in between 1968-1970 until she was killed by American forces. A US soldier found & held on to her diary for 35 years before returning a copy to the doctor’s mother in Hanoi. Apparently the book was a bestseller in Viet Nam. Don’t know why I’m going on about it, it sounds depressing, but the kind of book I won’t be able to turn away from. Not exactly chick lit…UPS just brought it unexpectedly though, won’t look a gift book in the mouth…

I ALSO GOT THE BOOK “CROSSED BONES BY JANE JOHNSON, TODAY. UPS MUST BE WORKING OVERTIME WITH US. I CALLED THE KROGER HEADQUARTERS AND ASKED WHAT WAS THEIR POLICY WITH COUPONS AND GAVE THEM THE INFO OFF THE COUPON. THE MANAGER OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD KROGER JUST CALLED ME AND TOLD ME TO COME IN AND SHOW HIM THE COUPONS. HE SAID,THEY WERE FINE AND TO GO AND DO MY SHOPPING. HE WAS NICE. MY TOTAL WAS $76.00 WITH THE COUPONS I ONLY PAID $11.03($5.83 WAS TAX) CAN YOU BELIEVE THE WATER 6PK BEING SO HIGH. THIS WATER BETTER MAKE FLOAT. MY SON WAS IMPRESSED WITH MY SAVINGS.
