  • I am a single mother raising three teenage boys. Every time the summer is ending I dread having to find outfits on a budget.     I am a young woman with no children who now has custody of 3 boys (5,7,9). When the boys came to my home they were 2,3,6. It has been a battle to get financial help for them. Dad is in Jail, mom is M.I.A., and you can forget about Public Assistance. Yes I went that route. Since I am not a blood relative, I am not entitled to help. Financially I am falling apart. I would like the gift card to get the boys a couple of the things they want but most of all I see the gift card as help with summer clothes and or school clothes for next year.     I a young single parent of three kids to whom I love dearly. I actually only have one of my own. I have had my niece since she was a baby. She is now thirteen. My cousin since she was four. She is now ten. My son is one.I don’t get any help from their parents at all. The sad thing is one is my brother’s child. He does absolutly nothing for her at all. My cousins mom is in jail and I have no clue of who her father is. My son father is not around either. Plus I take care of my mom who lives with me also. I have three brothers and neither one of them help me out.I want to win to buy them some of the things they want and not tell them I have to pay bills.     Steve I have three grand children that could use help with clothes and books. I have one that is 12 that is over weight and the doctor advised that the child loose 45 to 50 pounds. Feels that other children make fun of his weight. He is a smart kid but highly senitive about his weight. We could use exercising equipment were the child could have access to it at home. Like a treadmill. Wii with the fitness program. Getting the whole family involve instealing discipline, awareness of the importance of good health and preventing youth diabetes. I know it would make a difference in his life.

I graduated three children and a niece , I was a single parent, I would never say I raised them on my on ,because that is not possible in the days ,(I don’t understand why people would say) “I raised several children on my own or by myself,” no that is a lie , well If u did , there were no teacher , preacher, busdriver, friends, aunt, uncle, grandmother, radio, tv, mall, food stamps, children assistance, or ext… if u can SAY YES TO ANy ONE of the above HAS BEEN MENTION THEN U DID NOT RAISe YUR CHILDREN BY YUR SELF,stop lieing God had a big part in their lives if they r not in jail , killed, drugs , homeless and many negative things of this untoward world. Break down and tell God thank u for knowledge and wisdom u had to share in bringing up yur children. He deserve all the glory and continue to thank him ,because they r still growing….Now I have a mothe of five who just moved in with me and a gift card would be just great!     Recently my sister passed away on September 13th. Before she died, she had a 2nd mortgage taken out to remodel her bedroom and bathroom, so that her husband could have more independent in using the bathroom and getting to bed (her husband had several strokes, therfore, he can no longer use his legs, but, he could use his left hand). It would be nice, if he could get the free gift card, to get some items that would help him with things that he needs for the bedroom and bathroom.   • I recently lost my dad and I have two sons and a grandson all whose’s birthday is in December 17,19 and 27.

    I would love to be able to give them a good christmas and also for my mom who take such great care of my dad while he was suffering sick in and out of the hospital.

    It has been really hard on all the family the last two years and this will be our first Christmas with the my dad who was the cornerstone of our family.

    We had a traditional all his children and grandchildren ate breakfast open gifts and ate dinner.

    We have been doing this for over 45 years!!!

    I am a mother of two girls with special needs. They were born with a genic disorder called Joubert Syndrome. My money I had saved for Xmas had to be spent on unexpected medical needs, mainly on medicine. You see my oldest daughter doctor changed her daily dosage to more than the amount I have at home and we are in between refills that are paid for by insurance.So I had to make a choice, let my daughter Ray-Ray run out of medicine and have seizures or tell my girls we will not have a Xmas this year. It’s amazing how sometimes we whine about things that when compared to others, they’re really miniscual.     Hi Steve, I really could use that kmart gift card, I’m a hardworking young grandmother, who needs to complete knee replacement,also i have crippling arthritis in my legs and have been diagnois to be in a wheel chair if i dont have the surgery, which i’m unable to do so, because of my finances, It would feel so good to be able to give my grandchildren a good christmas. The state of florida will not give me any assistance with these young girls because I am not a blood relative so they don’t qualify for assistance.     :h5: Hello Mr. Harvey and cast , my name is Alicia Webb am a single lady that is raising four of my great neise and newphew’s. Now mind you that I;ve alreadt raised my three kid , my youngest is twenty two of age.
    The reason that I have the kids is because of their mother was not able to care for them and their father’s are not in the kid’s life at all. When I got the kid’s they didn’t even have a pair of sock’s or even clothes for the kid’s , the clothes that they did have stinked so bad and was un-wearable so I had to take the kid’s with just what they had on their back’s in which I had to throw away. Am working part-time now because I can’t afford a baby sitter and the state is really not helping me , so I sit here thinking how to get a few things for the kid’s for X-mas , what everthey get they would be greatful because their mother really could never afford anything because she did have three other kid’s that she was also taking care of . so all together she had seven kids that she could’nt handle.
    So it would be a great plessure to get a X-mas card for the kid’s and at least they can say they had a good X-mas for once.

    I would like to nominate the Spruill family for the KMART contest. This family has been through it this past year. I am an in-home counselor for the family and has seen Ms. Spruill struggle to provide for 8 kids. The family has been homeless (motel) for the better part of 2013 and through her persistence has managed to provide by working a variety of temp jobs.

    The Spruill family has been blessed to move into a home about 2 weeks ago, but continue to need support, especially during the holiday season. The gift certificate would really come in handy for buying the kids something for Christmas.

    Well I know that alot of people have listed some good reasons why they need a gift card. I am blessed to have what I have and it may not be alot but I am still grateful for my life and my kids and our health. I am living with my parents .Have been since my husband (who I have a Five year old daughter with) was sentenced to death. Since then it has been a struggle to make ends meet . Last year she was out of work and was just blessed to see christmas.
