HOW TO WIN: To win prizes, contestants (“Contestants”) must pick the one (1) biggest upset from the 32 games from Round #1 as determined and ranked solely by Sponsor, the one (1) biggest upset from Round #3 (commonly referred to as “The Sweet Sixteen”) and win subsequent tie breakers.
GAME PLAY: Following the seeding of the Men’s NCAA® College Basketball Tournament on Sunday March 14, 2010, the 32 first round games will be ranked in descending order from the potential biggest upset in the tournament (#64 team vs. #1 team) to the most evenly matched teams as listed by the BBQ Bracket Busters entry form.
FIRST ROUND: From Monday, March 15, 2010 until Wednesday March 17,,2010 at 11:59pm C.S.T Contestants pick the one (1) game they believe will be the ONE (1) BIGGEST UPSET of the 32 games played in Round #1 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament based on the game rankings as determined by Sponsor.
Following the completion of First Round games of the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament, the Contestants that accurately pick the biggest upset in the first round (hereinafter referred to as “Remaining Contestants”) continue on to the Final Round of our Contest and get an opportunity to pick the biggest upset from Round #3 of the Tournament, commonly referred to as The Sweet Sixteen. Contestants that DO NOT correctly pick the biggest upset from Round #1, are eliminated from the Contest.
FINAL CONTEST ROUND: Remaining Contestants who accurately picked the biggest upset in Round #1, continue on to have the opportunity to pick the ONE (1) BIGGEST UPSET in Round # 3 of the Tournament, commonly referred to as the Sweet Sixteen Round. Remaining Contestants will be instructed via email by Monday, March 22, 2010 of how to proceed to the Final Round.
Special note: Remaining Contestants WILL NOT be picking the biggest upset in Round #2 of the Tournament.
Between Monday, March 22, 2010 and Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:59pm C.S.T, the Remaining Contestants will have the opportunity to pick the biggest upset of Round #3 / Sweet Sixteen as listed and ranked on the BBQ Bracket Busters Final Round Entry Form, and fill out two tiebreakers listed below:
First Tie Breaker: Remaining Contestants will estimate the Margin of victory between the two teams from the biggest upset game they picked in Round #3/The Sweet Sixteen. In the event that the tie is not broken, the Second Tie Breaker will be used.
Second Tie Breaker: Remaining Contestants will also estimate the Combined Score of both teams of the biggest upset game they picked from Round #3.
If after the two tiebreakers a tie still exists, employees or representatives of Sponsor will conduct a random drawing to select the Grand Prize Winner, first prize and second prize. All decisions of Sponsor with respect to the Contest shall be final and binding.
THE ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND ON THE NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED.
HOW TO ENTER:
Contestants may sign up at www.bbqbracketbusters.com between Monday, March 15, 2010 and Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 11:59pm C.S.T by completing the following items:
A) Contestants must enter their correct name and valid email address.
B) Contestants must read the applicable Terms of Service and click the “I agree to the Terms of Service” box.
C) Contestants must pick the one (1) game from Round #1 that they believe will be the biggest upset.
Only ONE (1) Entry is allowed per person throughout the entire Contest Period. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. Entries that are incomplete, illegible or corrupted are void and will not be accepted. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, stolen, incomplete, or otherwise misdirected entries or transactions that are processed late or incorrectly or are lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or other error. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. By participating, entrants unconditionally accept and agree to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor.
TO ENTER THE CONTEST, CONTESTANTS MUST CHOOSE THE ONE (1) FIRST ROUND UPSET NO LATER THAN 11:59PM C.S.T TIME ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 17, 2010. AFTER WHICH TIME THE CONTEST IS CLOSED TO ADDITIONAL CONTESTANTS.
Contestants that correctly choose the Biggest Upset from Round #1, will get the opportunity to continue on to the Final Round of the Contest to pick the biggest upset from Round #3 of the tournament, commonly referred to as “the Sweet 16”. Remaining contestants will be notified via email of how to continue.
Contest deadlines and times are subject to change if the tournament schedule or related announcements are altered. Further, in the event of team forfeit or withdraw, player changes occur, or other events beyond the Sponsor’s control that might effect the outcomes of the games, Contestants do not have an opportunity to change their game play selection(s). Once Contestant is officially entered into Contest, their selection is final and their entry cannot be altered or reentered.
CONTEST PRIZES: On or around Tuesday, March 30, 2010 employees or representatives of Sponsor will determine the winners from all eligible Contest entries in accordance with the “BBQ Bracket Busters” rules as contained herein. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive cash in the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500).
One (1) First Prize Winner will receive cash in the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000).
One (1) Second Prize Winner will receive cash in the sum of five hundred dollars ($500).
