Verizon FiOS Thanksgiving Meal Hero Contest & Voting Sweepstakes
Each entrant will also be required to identify a living person who is the entrant’s “Thanksgiving Meal Hero” and to submit with each entry an essay of no fewer than seventy-five (75) words and no more than two-hundred (200) words written in English describing why the subject of the story deserves the title of “Thanksgiving Meal Hero” (each, an “Essay”)
There is no limit on the number of entries per person, but each Submission must be original and unique. Submission of duplicate Essays and/or Photographs will constitute grounds for disqualification of all parties.
following judging criteria (the “Public Voting Criteria”), weighted equally: (a) extent to which the Submission clearly expresses why the subject deserves the title of “Thanksgiving Meal Hero” by demonstrating his or her efforts beyond and above his or her peers which are above expectations; (b) extent to which the Submission describes how the entrant uses phone, Internet or television to interact or stay connected to the subject throughout the year; and (c) overall impression. Each voter will be permitted to vote for an Essay multiple times throughout the Entry Period, but in no case more than one vote per Essay per day.
The twenty-five (25) Essays that receive the highest average scores in the public judging will be selected as potential finalists
PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded. The Grand Prize is a four (4) day, three (3) night trip for the winner and three (3) guests to New York City. The trip consists of round trip, coach-class air transportation for the winner and three (3) guests between the major airport nearest to the winner’s home and an airport in the New York City metropolitan area, provided the winner resides outside the 250-mile radius of New York City (as determined by Sponsor in its discretion); ground transportation for the winner and three (3) guests between the New York City metropolitan area airport and the hotel; dinner for the winner and three (3) guests at the restaurant of a Food Network chef or personality (to be determined by Sponsor in its discretion); tour of Food Network Studio for the winner and three (3) guests; a three (3) night consecutive night stay for the winner and three (3) guests; (one (1) room; room rate and taxes only; size and type of room determined by Sponsor) at a hotel within the greater New York City area determined by Sponsor; and $500.00 awarded in the form of a check or another payment method determined by Sponsor.The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $9,000.00
Each Weekly Period will commence at 12:00 a.m. ET on a Wednesday and end at 11:59 p.m. ET on the following Tuesday, except for the first Weekly Period, which begins at 9:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, and the last Weekly Period, which begins at 9:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, November 22, 2012.
PRIZES: Each of the Weekly Prizes consists of a cookware set; four (4) cookbooks determined by Sponsor in its discretion; a selection of kitchen essentials determined by Sponsor in its discretion; and a tablet device (brand, model and all other specifications determined by Sponsor in its discretion). The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of each Weekly Prize is $1,200.00. The aggregate ARV of all prizes is $4,800.00.
