Submit a true essay of 500 words or less, which addresses the theme: “A person in your life who makes the world a better place and possesses gemstone-like qualities for whom you are thankful”.
Grand Prize: (1 winner) 5-day/4-night Getaway Package for two persons to the Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The Getaway Package includes: 1) Round trip coach air transportation for two persons from the nearest major airport closest to the winner’s residence and Riviera Maya Airport (Mexico), and 4-night hotel accommodations (standard double occupancy room); the meals and beverages, taxes, and gratuities that are included as part of hotel’s standard all-inclusive program will be provided. Travel and accommodations are subject to capacity controls, availability, limitations, and other restrictions, all of which are subject to change at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Vacation trip package fulfillment will be coordinated by the Sponsor; Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, select from among available flights, and all accommodations and air transportation are SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY. Grand Prize winner must advise Sponsor a minimum of 5 weeks prior to their desired departure date. Travel may not occur during published resort or airline blackout periods. Once travel is booked, no change, extension or substitution of vacation dates is permitted, except by Sponsor at its sole discretion. The Released Parties shall have no responsibility or liability for cancellations and/or delays or any change by the air carrier(s), lodging facilities, or other company or any other persons providing any of components of the prizes for the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest due to reasons beyond the Released Parties’ control. Grand Prize winner must provide own transportation for themselves and their travel companion to and from departure airport. It is the responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and his/her travel guests to arrive at the departure airport in time for their flight to Riviera Maya Airport (Mexico), with proper government-issued travel documentation, including passports and proper identification. Certain travel and security restrictions may apply and it is the responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and travel guest to comply with all travel, security and other laws, regulations, airline passenger and hotel rules that apply to them. Winner and his/her guest will be solely responsible for all expenses incurred by them while redeeming the Grand Prize that are not included in the prize package, including the following: Passport fees, travel insurance, optional guide gratuities, airport departure tax, airline baggage fees, and items of personal needs (snacks, laundry, souvenirs, etc.). Winner and travel guest must have or obtain a valid passport through the standard method, and Sponsor will not be responsible for any fees or costs associated with obtaining correct and official documentation of travel passports. Grand Prize winner and travel companion must execute liability/publicity releases prior to issuance of travel documents. If the Grand Prize winner is a resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her to be a minor, the Prize will be awarded in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian. If the Grand Prize winner is a minor, he/she must be accompanied by his/her parent/legal guardian, and such person must pay his/her own expenses unless deemed to be one of the allotted travel guests. If a travel guest is a resident of a jurisdiction that deems him/her to be a minor, he/she must be accompanied by his/her parent/legal guardian, and such person must pay his/her own expenses unless deemed to be the Grand Prize winner or one of the allotted travel guests. In the event that a prize component of the vacation package is not available, cancelled or rescheduled for any reason, then the remaining elements of the prize shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsor’s prize obligation to winner and no additional compensation will be awarded. If the Grand Prize winner chooses to take vacation without a guest, then the remaining elements of the Grand Prize shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsor’s prize obligation to winner and no additional compensation will be awarded. The Grand Prize awarded consisting of products/services for two people require that the Grand Prize winner and travel guest redeem the Grand Prize together. The Grand Prize will be deemed awarded upon the winner’s receipt of the travel itinerary and travel vouchers. Sponsor will not replace any of the prize components that are lost, mutilated, or stolen. The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV) of the Grand Prize is $3,500. Any difference between stated ARV and actual value of Grand Prize will not be awarded. The Grand Prize Getaway vacation must be taken by November 1, 2011, or prize will be forfeited and no compensation will be awarded.
