How to Enter: There are two (2) ways to enter the Promotion:

a. Create a Video: You will need to create a video by either downloading the Vine
application or another video application or program. The Vine application is free,
but subject to its terms and conditions (https://vine.co/terms). You will also need
to have a Twitter account. Use of Twitter is free, but subject to Twitter’s Terms of
Service (https://twitter.com/tos). Message and data rates may apply to
downloading or using these applications on your mobile device. This
Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with,
Vine or Twitter. During the Submission Phase, create a video about how you will
create incredible music with the Surface Music Kit. (the “Contest Theme”). Then,
from your mobile device or computer, visit
http://microsoft.promo.eprize.com/surface/ and follow the links to follow @Surface
on Twitter, or directly follow @Surface on Twitter. From your Twitter account,
Tweet your video that relates to the Contest’s Theme to receive one (1) entry into
the Contest (herein referred to as your “Submission”). The Tweet with your
Submission must include the hashtag #RemixProject and your video URL link.

b. Tweet A Message: During the Submission Phase, from your Twitter account,
tweet about how you will make incredible music with the Surface Music Kit (the
“Contest Theme”). You must follow @Surface on Twitter. You will receive one (1)

entry into the Contest (herein referred to as your “Submission”). The Tweet with
your Submission must include the hashtag #RemixProject.

6. Winner Determination: During the Judging Phase, a panel of qualified judges determined
by Sponsor in its sole discretion will select the five hundred (500) winners with the
highest-scoring Submissions from among all eligible Submissions, based on the following
criteria (“Judging Criteria”):
 Creativity/Originality (25%);
 Quality of Submission (25%); and
 Fit to Contest Theme (50%).
In the event of a tie, an entrant whose Submission received the highest score for Fit to Contest
Theme, as determined by the qualified judges in their sole discretion, will be deemed a winner.
Sponsor reserves the right to select fewer than five hundred (500) winners if, in its sole
discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Submissions.

8. Prizes: FIVE HUNDRED (500) GRAND PRIZES: A Microsoft Surface 2 with a Cover for

Surface music kit. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of Surface 2: $449. The Cover for Surface
music kit product has not been released to market therefore ARV has not been assigned as of
this writing. Total ARV of each Grand Prize not to exceed $599. The actual value of the prize
is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things,
any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and
the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will
be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right
to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become
unavailable for any reason. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize

receipt and/or use. Limit: One (1) prize per person. Total ARV of all prizes not to exceed:
$299,500.
