Complete three (3) required questions and tell Sponsor why you want to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. (Maximum for all questions: 1,200 characters, in English). See Rule #5 for Judging Criteria.
CONTEST JUDGING: Entries will be judged by Judges and Sean Swarner (the “Panel”), whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Judging portion of this Contest. Entries will be judged on the following equally-weighted criteria (“Judging Criteria”): (1) Desire and enthusiasm to climb Mount Kilimanjaro; (2) Entrant’s alignment with the Grape-Nuts brand and its promotion of a healthy and active lifestyle; and (3) Creativity. The Entry receiving the highest cumulative score for all criteria awarded by the Panel will be deemed the winner. In case of a tie, tied Entries will be broken by points awarded for “Desire and enthusiasm to climb Mount Kilimanjaro”. If tie continues, then tie(s) will be broken by the Entry with highest cumulative point score in the second criteria, continuing thereafter to the next criteria until the tie is broken. Winner will be determined on or about May 26, 2014.
PRIZE (1): Trip for winner only (no guest) to join Sean Swarner to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and visit the Serengeti. Travel dates: July 12, 2014 (depart USA) – July 27, 2014 (arrive USA). The trip consists of round-trip coach class air transportation from a major U.S. gateway airport nearest winner’s residence; camping set-up or overnight accommodations for duration of trip; ground transportation; all meals while in Africa; and cash winner can use to purchase required climbing gear (ARV $3,000) ; a GoPro camera; a Grape-Nuts branded technical t-shirt; $500 to be used towards personal training sessions one month prior to trip; $350 to be used towards tips for the guides, assistants, cooks, porters, etc.; $100 per diem for each of the two (2) days of the flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport and return flight to the USA; and approximately $100 check made payable to the winner for a Visa for Tanzania. Money may be awarded in the form of a check, payable to winner or cash, as determined by Sponsor, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Passport required for international travel; Visa required for Tanzania. Winner will be required to obtain necessary immunizations for travel to Africa. Winner must be physically fit and will be required to provide a medical release. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and change. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for canceled, delayed, suspended or rescheduled events (including, but not limited to airline flights) or any act or omissions whatsoever by the air carriers, hotels, venue operators, transportation companies, prize providers or any other persons providing any prize-related services or accommodations) beyond its control. Selection of airline and accommodations are solely within Sponsor’s discretion. Winner must be prepared to travel between 7/12/14 and 7/27/14; no alternate travel dates are available. Winner must have all necessary identification and/or travel documents required for travel. Certain travel restrictions may apply. Airline tickets are non-refundable/non-transferable and are not valid for upgrades and/or frequent flyer miles. Additional prize award details and travel information may be provided to the winner at the time of notification. Lost, stolen or damaged airline tickets, travel vouchers, certificates or tickets will not be replaced or exchanged. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $14,560. Actual retail value depends on city/day/time of departure and location choice.
