{"id":66804,"date":"2012-01-12T12:38:28","date_gmt":"2012-01-12T17:38:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.freestufftimes.com\/contests\/?p=66804"},"modified":"2012-01-12T12:38:28","modified_gmt":"2012-01-12T17:38:28","slug":"kawasaki-zero-to-hero-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.freestufftimes.com\/contests\/12\/kawasaki-zero-to-hero-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Kawasaki Zero to Hero Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ninja14r.kawasaki.com\/#challenge\" >http:\/\/ninja14r.kawasaki.com\/#challenge<\/a><\/p>\n<p>consists of five (5) phases: the Submission Phase, Initial Judging Phase, Public Voting Phase, Final Judging Phase and Finalist Racing Event<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Phase<br \/>\n\u00a0Start Time<br \/>\n\u00a0End Time<br \/>\n\u00a0Submission Phase<br \/>\n\u00a0January 1, 2012 @ 12:00:01 a.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0February 14, 2012 @ 11:59:59 p.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0Initial Judging Phase<br \/>\n\u00a0February 15, 2012 @ 12:00:01 a.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0March 13, 2012 @ 11:59:59 p.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0Public Voting Phase<br \/>\n\u00a0March 14, 2012 @ 12:00:01 a.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0April 14, 2012 @ 11:59:59 p.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0Final Judging Phase<br \/>\n\u00a0April 15, 2012 @ 12:00:01 a.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0May 1, 2012 @ 11:59:59 p.m. (ET)<br \/>\n\u00a0Finalist Racing Event<br \/>\n\u00a0May 10, 2012 @ TBD Time<br \/>\n\u00a0May 12, 2012 @ TBD Time<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Entries are limited to one (1) per Eligible Entrant for the duration of the Contest.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0uploading an essay submission during the Submission Phase, each of which must share the story of \u201cWhy I am qualified to race Rickey Gadson.\u201d All Entries will be screened during the Initial Judging Phase, and eight (8) semi-finalists will submit a photo and brief bio of themselves to be posted on the official \u201cZero to Hero\u201d Contest website located at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kawasaki.com\/zerotohero\" >www.kawasaki.com\/zerotohero<\/a> (\u201cSite\u201d) for general public viewing and voting during the Public Voting Phase and judged during the Final Judging Phase using the criteria set forth in the last paragraph of Section 6 below to select four (4) finalists (provided that the number of prizes awarded depends on Sponsor\u2019s receipt of a sufficient number of Valid Entries) who will travel to the Rickey Gadson Drag Racing School; and who upon completion of the course and after successfully qualifying for their NHRA ET (Elapsed Time) Bracket license will have the opportunity to compete for the chance to race Gadson to win a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja\u00ae ZX\u2122-14R motorcycle, all of which will be announced commencing at the Announcement Time.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0must be a legal resident of one of the United States or the District of Columbia who is of the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence and at least 18 years of age or older and have a valid state-issued driver\u2019s license with a valid motorcycle endorsement as of the date of entry.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Prizes and Prize Conditions: Four (4) Finalists will win a trip for two (2) to the Rickey Gadson Drag Racing School where the Finalists will attend two (2) days of professional performance riding classes and the potential to earn an NHRA ET (Elapsed Time) Bracket license. Upon completion of the course and after successfully qualifying for his or her NHRA ET (Elapsed Time) Bracket license, each finalist will be considered a Qualified Finalist (the \u201cQualified Finalist\u201d). Each Qualified Finalist will then have the opportunity to compete in a four-person tournament (four (4) Qualified Finalists) for a chance to win one (1) of two (2) Grand Prizes available.<br \/>\n\u00a0Each Finalist Prize consists of a travel package (\u201cTravel Package\u201d) for the Finalist and one (1) guest (\u201cGuest\u201d) who must be a legal resident of one of the United States or the District of Columbia and who is of the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence and at least 18 years of age or older. Travel Package includes round trip coach air transportation from a major U.S. airport nearest the Finalist\u2019s residence (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) for two (2) people who must travel together on same itinerary. Hotel accommodations for five (5) days\/four (4) nights (one room for two (2) people and at a hotel selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion) and will be based on availability at time of booking, and ground transportation from airport to hotel and from hotel to airport and to\/from hotel to Racing School. Finalists must be able to travel to The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, and depart on Sunday, May 13, 2012, or Prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. A $1,000 check will be provided to each Finalist for finalist and their guest\u2019s incidental fees during traveling. Total Approximate Retail Value (\u201cARV\u201d) of Finalist Prize Package is $4,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Each Finalist will attend two (2) days of professional performance riding classes and have the potential to earn an NHRA ET (Elapsed Time) Bracket license. Upon completion of the course and after successfully qualifying for their NHRA ET (Elapsed Time) Bracket license, each Finalist will be considered a Qualified Finalist (the \u201cQualified Finalist\u201d). Each Qualified Finalist will then have the opportunity to compete in a four-person bracket-style tournament (four (4) Qualified Finalists). The winner of the tournament will then have the opportunity to race against Rickey Gadson for a chance to win one (1) of two (2) Grand Prizes available. If the one (1) Finalist posts the faster time in a one-on-one race against Rickey Gadson, he\/she will be considered a Grand Prize Winner. Additionally, the Qualified Finalist deemed to be the Most Valuable Hero \u201cMVH\u201d will be considered a Grand Prize Winner. The \u201cMVH\u201d will be determined by a Kawasaki appointed panel of judges. Limit: One Grand Prize Vehicle per person. Each Grand Prize consists of a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja\u00ae ZX\u2122-14R vehicle. The Approximate Retail Value (\u201cARV\u201d) of the vehicle is $14,699.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Total ARV of all prizes:
