Got all this today at Target for $0.00 OOP.

I actually got more from my coupons than the price of stuff because the cashier just put in the maximum amount for each of the coupons.

The yogurts were $.59 each and he put in $1.05 for each. I got 6 free product coupons from writing dannon and telling them we love their yogurt. I had a B1G1 for the Glade and a free Glade product coupon (also from writing the company) so those were both free. Actually, the coupons said up to $10 so instead of $8.49 he put in $10.00 for the free product coupon. I got a free product coupon with a sample of Meow Mix Wholesome Goodness for the little cup of Meow Mix food. I can’t remember what the maximum value on this one was, but again, he put in the max value instead of the actual price. I also had the free Kashi dinner coupon and again, he put in the maximum value price. I used all the overage to get Ali a pink radio flyer scooter she has wanted since before Christmas. They had them on clearance! 🙂

Yea that is seriously wrong. I had to correct the cashier at Kroger the other night because the Planters cashews where $5.55 and the coupon said up to $5.00 and she tried to take the whole amount off.

    That just isn’t right.

i would not personally risk someone losing thier job over a mistake like this. i would hav said something to help them out. that is just me though. seems silly to make someone possibly lose thier job over some FREE stuff.

    That’s awesome!

You know what’s weird though? When i went to Target they did the same things! They took off the max amount of the coupon instead of the price of the item. Actually it was automatic. It scanned the max price and the cashier didn’t have to do anything but continue on.

I went to Target last weekend with my max $3 suave coupon. I got 2 big size bottles of Shampoo and conditioner at 1.69 each. After the coupon was scanned it automatically took off $3, not $1.69. I even argued back and forth with the lady because it did that. I told her anywhere else would only take off the price of the item, not the max of the coupon. I didn’t want her to get in trouble. But she seemed ok with letting it go.

I went to another target about 20 miles away from the first one with my bf’s coupon and it did the same thing.

So I don’t think it’s the cashier’s decision to take off the max of the coupon.

yea, I agree, that is why I told her about it. So she could correct it and wouldn’t get into trouble.

Yeah. I didn’t realize it until after I got home because I had my daughter with me so I wasn’t paying attention. I probably would have said something had I realized it while I was in the store. Maybe the coupons scanned automatically at the max amount? I thought at Target they had to manually enter the amounts though? I don’t know…like I said, I was paying attention to my daughter and not to the cashier.

it is the cashiers fault, not her’s. 😮

    It doesn’t matter! :dunno:

If the bank teller accidentally gave you too much money back, would you just keep it just because it was her fault and not yours?

In case anyone is wondering, I actually did contact Target before posting my photos on here. I was told that no one would get in trouble for entering the incorrect amount and that they get reimbursed the same amount either way. I offered to come in to the store and pay the difference between the coupons and the actual prices. I was told by the store manager that if I did some in, they would not change my receipt so to save myself a trip.

  14. leigh on March 9th, 2009 3:24 pm

you didnt bother saying that to begin with. in fact you have now changed your story a few times. i am sorry if i see no reason at all the believe you NOW.

  15. leigh on March 9th, 2009 3:25 pm

    first she says
“I used all the overage to get Ali a pink radio flyer scooter she has wanted since before Christmas. They had them on clearance! ”
    then
“Yeah. I didn’t realize it until after I got home because I had my daughter with me so I wasn’t paying attention. I probably would have said something had I realized it while I was in the store. Maybe the coupons scanned automatically at the max amount? I thought at Target they had to manually enter the amounts though? I don’t know…like I said, I was paying attention to my daughter and not to the cashier.”

and now she says she did call?

why why why am i having a very hard time believing this.

It’s already happened and it’s done with. Just be cool and let it go.

  17. lilwecky on March 9th, 2009 3:32 pm

I did use some of the money to buy her the scooter. I had the scooter in the cart already. Its not like I ran back and got it. Just drop it, Leigh! I wasn’t aware I was going to be accused of all kinds of crap or I would have told the ENTIRE story the first time…Every word of that is absolutely true…and you all wonder why I don’t want to post in the forum anymore!

  18. leigh on March 9th, 2009 3:53 pm

no i dont wonder. you told me why already. we are jealous and haters.
