I hate when you have to enter your DOB. I put a fake one and it couldn’t be verified. How do they know?
I did not include my drivers license # or last 4 digits of my ss#.
It wasn’t until I put my actual DOB that it went through. I don’t like that.

I tried too, using my mailbox etc p.o. box, a different name, and a fake D.O.B. It looks like they have access to some database, which is not cool. Secondly, some health/life insurance companies raise your rates if you’re a smoker, or decline payment if you lied and you are a smoker (who’s to say they don’t share information with these tobacco companies). A free metal water bottle is tempting, but I’ll be passing on this one.

Seriously, I have really been trying to figure out how they are doing it. I think, somehow they have access (or are able to verify) DMV and/or voter registration information. Which is pretty much handled by the DMV and state government. If you google tobacco company verification, many ask for your name “as spelled on your driver’s license, state id card, or voter registration card.” Ugh, it disgusts me that they have that much access.
