FINALIST DETERMINATION: All eligible entries received will be preliminarily judged to determine 16
Finalists by D.L. Blair, Inc., an independent judging organization whose decisions are final. Judging will be
based on the following criteria: Originality & Creativity of Statement – 50%; Appropriateness of Statement
to “Deck Party of Your Dreams” Theme – 35%; and Sincerity of Statement – 15%. In the event of a tie, tied
entries will be broken based on the highest score for “Originality & Creativity of Statement.”
All remaining Finalists will receive a First
Prize. Photos will not be judged. All judging will be based on the following criteria: Originality & Creativity
of Statement – 50%; Appropriateness of Statement to “Deck Party of Your Dreams” Theme – 35%; and
Sincerity of Statement – 15%. In the event of a tie, tied entries will be broken based on the highest score
for “Originality & Creativity of Statement.”
PRIZES: (1) Grand Prize: Winner will receive a “deck makeover” including an in-person deck consultation
by DIY expert Jeff Wilson and a “Deck Warming” party. Prize includes a light refurbishment of winner’s
deck (utilizing Thompson’s Water Seal products) and a “deck warming” party with sponsor-specified food
and beverages for winner and up to 50 guests. Winner will also receive up to $7,500 of sponsor-specified
outdoor furniture and accessories for winner’s deck. (Approximate Retail Value: $20,000). Consultation
with Jeff Wilson is subject to scheduling and availability and must take place by 10/15/16.
