Also check your local airport. Every so often the EAA chapter of your local airport will have a Young Eagles Day. This is great fun. The kids will fly in airplanes owned by EAA members, and the pilot will show them the airplane and it’s instruments and how they work. Sometimes they will also allow the kids to handle the controls. We were members of the EAA for many many years.
